Here's a plaster column
that I purchased plain white and decorated with an
antique patina.
A basic table was given a
new identity with a white crackled finish over dark
green.
A
nicely detailed wood mantle received some added
sophistication from gold leafing on its most prominent
details.
This new plaster ceiling
medallion was aged to go with the rest of the room's
theme with a metallic gold wash.
This $3 pine box became
exotic when I grained it to look like Brazilian
Rosewood.

Take a plain wood mantle
and add some sienna style marbling, and you've got a new
look for your living room.
The panels in this dining
room needed something to make the room more formal.
A
little marble goes a long way!
Only
part of the mantle in this room was marbled. The purple
marble goes with the lavender color scheme on the walls.
This composite ceiling
medallion is given a lush look with hand painted
details.
This pine box is richly
decorated with black lacquer and purple marble.

sale find goes high end with black lacquer and harlequin
diamonds.

Even
something simple like adding an accent color to the
bevels of the raised paneling on this fireplace surround
can add style and elegance.
I took this piece from a
plain stained finish to a distressed, antique look.
This true antique suffered
water damage on it's original painted marble top. I
repaired it and completely repainted it in a green
serpentine marble. (top only)
Working with the cabinet maker, I developed this
slightly distressed finish from bare wood. The cabinets
were painted at the workshop and distressed after
installation.

slightly distressed kitchen.
For this Manchester, NH new construction
project, I applied an aged bronze finish to the fire
insert surround and mantle. The wall area is also
glazed.
For this quality crafted piece of
furniture, I stripped off the old paint and updated it
with an embedded glaze to suite the designer's vision.
My customer just wasn't happy with the
way this new light fixture looked right out of the box.
To better fit with the rustic decor of this powder room,
I applied a rusted iron finish.
